Busy Bug!

We have moved on to standing and crawling. Enough said! :)

Happy FIRST Father's Day!

I always knew what a wonderful father Josh would be, but we finally got to celebrate Father's Day for real! Jackson was so excited to help his daddy celebrate! He tried to be quiet so that Josh could sleep in. Once he was up we served him a special breakfast of Anita's breakfast burritos (a favorite around here!) and helped him open presents! I have a reputation for giving presents so early because I get so excited, and I made it all the way to Friday. Then I just couldn't help myself! LOL I think Josh's favorite presents were a little taste from "home." We have an all-time favorite hotdog place in Skokie (walking distance from Mom and Dad's so we at least pretend to walk off all the greasy goodness). It's called Big Herms and not only did Josh receive an official t-shirt from Jackson, Pax, and me, but he got a gift card from my mom and dad to be used in a couple of weeks when we go for a visit! His mouth was watering already :)

The main event of the day was a baseball game at Nationals Park. They were playing the Blue Jays and we had a great time! We were bummed to see the Nats lose since until yesterday they were 4-0 in our presence! (We are hoping they lose the next game we go to since it will be against the Cubs!) There was plenty to see and lots of yummy food to eat!

Jackson definitely enjoyed celebrating his daddy yesterday--Josh definitely deserves it! He has been an amazing father since the moment the two pink lines showed up :) Happy FIRST Father's Day Babe!

HILARIOUS Garden Vegetables

I love my son! He makes our everyday routines so entertaining! After mastering Gerber's 1st foods line, Jackson has graduated to the 2nd foods. The beginning stages of solids consisted of applesauce, peaches, pears, bananas, prunes, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, and squash. Once we moved to 2nd foods, I easily found mixtures of apples and strawberry and apples and blueberries, but I was disappointed to not see any new veggies...until the other day! They had garden vegetables, mixed vegetables, and sweet potatoes and corn! YUM! The mixed veggies went well as did the first night of garden veggies (even though they looked and smelled the worst of the bunch!). Tonight, however, Jackson thought the garden vegetables were the funniest thing EVER! Every time he got a spoonful on his tongue, he would grin ear to ear and let out this laugh with a combo huff-n-snort going on. It was so funny and I hate to say I probably encouraged it. He's just so stinkin' cute! I can't wait to see what he thinks of the sweet potato and corn mix...
