Labor Day Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend, partly due to fun plans, and partly due to the beautiful weather! We toughed it out through a VERY hot and humid summer--I think we definitely deserved the cooler temperatures :)

For some of us, the long weekend started on Thursday. Josh and Joe planned a fun day that involved golf followed by an Orioles baseball game in Baltimore! While they were busy on their "mancation," Susie, Rachel, Jackson, and I kept busy by eating Panera for dinner at the Yancey house, sleeping, and hanging out.

On Friday, we met the Yanceys for dinner at Firehouse Subs (we hadn't been there in FOREVER, and it was SO good!), and then Susie and I went just down the street to see "Eat, Pray, Love." We were so excited to have Girl Movie Date Night! The movie was really good, and it was a nice outing for us :)

On Saturday, we hung around the house until it was time to head to the Shapiro house for a delicious dinner date! Jackson (and Momo), Colin, and Liam had such a good time playing in the backyard! Granted, they didn't play together, but they had fun all the same! Dinner was a yummy, all-American deal with burgers, pasta salad, baked beans, and a delicious frozen strawberry pie creation :) Unfortunately, the only pictures I took from the whole weekend were from Saturday night! (Actually, these are Katherine's pictures. They would have been mine if our camera turned on...)

Sunday involved relaxing for Jackson and me and golf for Josh. On Monday, Josh needed to take care of some work (but doing it now means he will not be doing it in San Francisco THIS weekend!), so Jackson and I headed to Woodbridge. We met Brandi and Kaitlyn at Fantasy Playground (one of the really fun wooden ones). The kiddos mostly had a good time watching the other kids. The big slide was a huge hit since it was metal and sent us flying! After we were all plenty hot and sweaty, we went to Qdoba for dinner. It was delicious! I was especially thrilled because Jackson ate a very full dinner! He downed whole bowls of macaroni and cheese, blueberries, and strawberries, as well as a container of yogurt! This punctuated a couple week streak where I was pretty sure the kid was living on air :( Hopefully we are in the upswing...

This was the second weekend in a row where I felt like I really relaxed! Yay me!
