On Saturday morning, I "slept in" until 7:30 (10:30 East coast!)! But it was still nice to wake up MYSELF and then get to just lie in bed and read until it was time to get up to check-out. We enjoyed the rule restricted breakfast at the hotel, checked out, and headed to Pleasanton to meet up with The Langstaffs!!! This family includes my good friend from college, Becca, her husband, George, and their 14-month old son, Grant. Becca was in my Early Childhood cohort at U of I, stood up in our wedding, and is just super fun! We hadn't seen each other since July of 2005! She and George moved to California shortly after they got married in the summer of 2005, and we just haven't gotten out that way until now! It was SO good to see each other and to have some real time to catch up :) We met in Pleasanton (even though the Langstaffs live in Livermore. Pleasanton had a BEAUTIFUL Farmers' Market that we wandered through before grabbing lunch at a delicious sandwich place. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures while we were hanging out at the market and eating lunch, but just imagine the most beautiful fruits and veggies--they all tasted just as good as they looked! We picnicked in a nearby park, walked through the Meadowlark Dairy for some delicious soft-serve.
We spent the afternoon just relaxing while Grant napped at the house. Becca and George gave us a tour of their adorable house. They pretty much re-did everything after buying it! It looks beautiful, and we must say that we have some serious house envy! I didn't take many pictures of it either... BUT, there are these adorable pictures of Grant enjoying the fancy air-mattress that Josh and I slept on--it was seriously nicer than some beds we have slept in! During Grant's nap, Becca and I went into downtown Livermore and did a little shopping. We all went back there for dinner. Becca and George's favorite Mexican restaurant: El Charro. It was the second night they were open in their brand new location! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really fun! After a yummy dinner we stopped at the First Street Alehouse for a beer to top off our night. First St., in general, was very cute and had lots of fun shops and yummy looking restaurants! Becca and George were gracious enough to let us stay with them Saturday night, and Josh and I slept very well on the fancy air mattress :)
